I moved into public relations eight
years ago after spending six years
working on the other side of the fence
as a journalist. This experience continues
to shape my attitude to public relations
today – I always ensure that
every piece of information that we
send to journalists is up to scratch
and meets their individual requirements.
I know at first hand how annoying
it is to receive poorly-written or
irrelevant press releases and approaches!
I first concentrated on the design
industry for four years with both
a B2C and B2B focus and this gave
me a real taste of broader business
issues. At Flagship I initially worked
across a range of companies including
the launch of the CBI initiative,
Enterprise Insight, BAA and also launching
a renewable wind energy company, Windforce,
onto the UK and European markets.
I have also conducted corporate campaigns
for Hillarys Group and Trinity House.
I am personally fascinated by the
people element in organisations and
the impact that it has on a company’s
culture, productivity and innovation.
This passion has led to a focus on
this sector at Flagship and I have
worked with human resource consultants,
benefit providers, recruitment agencies,
employment law specialists and management
consultants. With my design experience
I’ve worked closely in the workplace
sector where the ‘people’
element plays an enormous part in
a successful workplace environment.
My passion for people is mirrored
in my relationships with clients and
journalists. I believe in an open
and honest relationship where trusted
advice is both given and taken. This
extends to my team where we work in
partnership to deliver campaigns that
have a positive impact on our clients’
growth and reputation.
