 I manage Flagship Consulting’s regional office which is based in the heart of Exeter. I opened the office in 2008 after working with Flagship in London for the past sixteen years.
Why the South West? Well, not only it is one of the UK’s most beautiful places but it is also an area of real economic growth. Home to big business and entrepreneurs alike, the business landscape is as diverse as the one outside my window! This makes it not only an exciting and dynamic place to live – but an inspirational and rewarding place in which to work.
I still relish being at the coalface of PR and being based in a regional office enables me to focus even more on those things I value most:
Close, long term and rewarding client relationships
Challenging, refreshing and successful PR campaigns
Strong media relationships which deliver real results
However, you can’t take London out of the girl completely. Having close links with the London Office ensures that:
I am still close to the heartbeat of media and PR developments;
I remain closely connected to strong national media contacts;
I have the ability to tap into fantastically experienced skilled resources;
oh yes – and still get to hang out with friends and colleagues
Working out of a regional office means I am also able to work with those businesses that, for whatever reason, might not want to work with a central London agency but still want the best PR resource around. A great position to be in – particularly during the current economic climate.
Finally – what’s the best thing about living and working in Devon? Well, on a sunny summer evening (remember them?) being able to leave my desk and meet my children on the beach for an evening play and picnic before heading home for the evening. It does a body good - come down and try it out for yourself! |
