What's going on

It’s been a busy few months at Flagship…

We’ve been appointed to handle the launch of Altaia Partners, a consultancy specialising in advising corporates on people-related ‘change’ issues.  The three partners have all worked in-house at a senior level and have a deep understanding of the impact of takeovers, restructuring, disposals or the arrival of a new CEO or board team.

The initial focus for the communications programme will be on developing understanding of Altaia’s expertise via securing ‘thought leadership’ commentary in quality business and HR media..

We’re very pleased that Serco – the operator of the Docklands Light Railway (serving Docklands, Greenwich, Lewisham and East London) – has decided to renew its relationship with Flagship.  We will be building on our success to date by undertaking a comprehensive consumer PR campaign in the run up to the summer of 2012.  The programme will involve a range of integrated projects designed to alert local residents and commuters to the benefits of using the DLR.

We’ll be positioning DLR as a convenient means of exploring London.  The campaign will involve traditional media and the development of social media platforms.

As part of the DLR’s new Summer Escapes campaign, we’ve been busy arranging a competition that received nearly 2,000 entries in less than two weeks.  Flagship wanted the campaign to emphasise how close London City Airport is to the workplaces of London’s Docklands when travelling by DLR, so we arranged partnerships with CityJet and Les Manoirs de Tourgéville hotel to offer a London City Airport getaway for a luxury weekend.

Our work with Visit Winchester (the tourism consortium for Winchester and its surroundings) continues to reap great rewards, which has lead to three new members joining the group.  This has significantly boosted our fees and continues to prove that the cutting edge work we are undertaking for Winchester is providing real benefits for the consortium.

Our most recent campaign promoting summer festivals in Winchester has led to coverage in the Times and The Observer.  Waitrose has also printed a half page piece on the Winchester Hat Fair and the Daily Express and The Times have featured the Winchester food festivals.

In other news, Flagship has just completed a media-focused assignment for executive coaches IDDAS.  ’The Non-Executive’s Perspective’ is the third in IDDAS’ series of ‘Board Dynamics’ research projects, following ‘A Female Perspective’, which examined the role and effectiveness of female board members, and ‘The Chairman’s Perspective, which addressed the relationship between the Chairman and the CEO.  We secured features in The Sunday Times and Governance (the influential journal covering corporate governance issues) and commissioned commentary in business media.

We’ve also recently written the award entry that helped QVC win the 2011 Freesat Award for Best Shopping Channel for the second year in a row. Congratulations to everyone at QVC!
