We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for a prestigious The PRCA Award, for our work on the English Language Day ‘Location Lingo’ campaign in 2010. The campaign is shortlisted for the coveted Media Relations Award and was focused around helping the client, education charity The English Project, to encourage the UK public to participate in English Language Day by submitting their favourite examples of ‘Location Lingo’ (local place name nicknames). To find out more about the campaign read our case study here. We’ll find out if we win on the 15th November.
We welcomed two new recruits in September. Belinda Hallworth has joined as a graduate trainee. She is a Law graduate from the University of Manchester. Nick Steel, takes up a Trainee Account Executive position.
Nick studied Marine Biology at Plymouth University, but realised media was his real interest after working on the university magazine and radio. He went on to study MA Multi-media Journalism at Bournemouth University. Nick combined his marine biology knowledge and passion for media in his previous role as the Web Editor for the UK marine charity, Shark Trust. Nick loves scuba diving and travelling and has only recently come back from an 18month trip around the world. At Flagship Nick works across digital and traditional PR for the DLR, Visit Winchester, ADP and CashCase.
Belinda has had a keen interest in the media since studying media law modules as part of her degree and undertaking work experience at The Times. She is working on Greenwich, ADP, NCL, Filmbank and CPA Global.
We’re delighted to have started work for Freelance Professional Services Ltd (FPS), a PAYE umbrella administration company to the contractor and freelance community. We look forward to helping them create debate about payroll and taxation in this fast growing market.
In the consumer space, new clients include Good Food Hampshire and Radcliffe Wines. For Good Food Hampshire, which is leading the project on behalf of the Hampshire Tourism Partnership, we will be promoting the county’s diverse range of quality food and local produce throughout 2012. The campaign will focus on building media knowledge of what the county offers through familiarisation trips and a year round media office.
We’ll be working with Radcliffe’s Wines to raise the brand’s profile in target regions. The PR campaign includes building relationships with high footfall food shows throughout the south of England to maximise exposure. This activity will be supported by a social media and blogger outreach programme.
Our newly launched Communications Studio for SMEs, has signed up its first three ‘club members’ clients: Plymouth-based online and mobile developer Remode; space saving cycle parking company Cycle Rax from Rotherham; and energy efficiency and sustainability consultants Carbon GC, based in the South West
Away from the office we’ve also been busy raising money for charity client Malaria No More by running the adidas Women’s 5K Challenge on September 11th in Hyde Park. Jackie Murphy, Casey Mead and Laetitia Redbond completed the race running under a mosquito net and raised a grand total of £1,300. Thank you to everyone who sponsored them. To see the team cross the finish line and to read about how they found the challenge see Laetitia’s blog.
