Stuff We like...

Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley

Everyone talks about Marcus Wareing’s custard tart so would it live up to the hype?  It certainly did – one of the best puddings I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot.  I was so excited about it that I couldn’t try the cheese trolley which was an amazing selection, and each cheese was given a full description by the very knowledgeable waiter.  Interesting ingredients such as three-cornered garlic and bergamot featured in the other courses.

We went on a Tuesday and had the lunch menu, but were looked after in the same way as those spending considerably more.  Being lunchtime, only about 9 tables were in use, so it would be interesting to visit when the restaurant is full to see if it is still an oasis of calm.

Would I go back?  Yes, please if someone will treat me!
