Start up PR

Affordable Public Relations and Marketing Services for Start-ups and Growing Businesses

Good communication is dependent on creating and maintaining credibility and visibility. All businesses, whatever their size, need these two things to get the attention of existing and potential customers.

That’s fine for large organisations with large in-house marketing and PR teams, but it’s a lot more difficult for smaller enterprises.  Few of them have the time or expertise to undertake a structured communications programme and they’re usually operating on very tight budgets.

That’s why we’ve developed – in tandem with marketing specialists Redfront -  ‘The Communications Studio’, a subscription-based PR and communications ‘club’ created specifically to support the promotional needs and objectives of  start-ups, small businesses and entrepreneurs.

We’ve structured the packages so that companies and entrepreneurs can choose the services they most need.  Subscribers to the Communications Studio are able to choose from a selection of affordable PR and marketing packages designed to help them target key audiences, generate new business leads and raise their profile in ‘traditional’ and new media.  And all members will also be able to purchase a range of add-on services, including:  copywriting (for press releases, articles, speeches, etc.), crisis and media training.

The club aspect is deliberate: aside from selecting a Silver, Gold or Platinum package of support services, all Communications Studio members will be part of a LinkedIn community, with access to a range of benefits including:

  • ‘How to’ guides – PR, Social Media, Branding, Direct Marketing
  • Quarterly Group Training – including crisis management and SEO
  • Annual networking event
  • Bi-monthly newsletter

Pressure Chamber

  • Blame storming- is it getting worse?

This morning, as my Twitter, Facebook and news feeds sprang onto my screens, it was clear that Tesco was in the middle of a media storm. Its advertisement for ‘unpaid’ nightshift workers had seemingly provoked fury and outrage resulting in the social networks working themselves into a frenzy of hostility. What was interesting was that

  • Guest post: Take a good look at your Google Analytics before you decide to invest in SEO

The starting point for most businesses embarking on an SEO campaign is (obviously) the desire to drive more visitors. But all too often, businesses focus their attention and resources on building traffic before they have really come to understand what’s happening on their website. In simple terms, you should always look to prioritise on-site conversion

  • What to do if you hit the Jackpot

In recent weeks there have been two substantial EuroMillions wins in the UK.  Interestingly, both decided to announce their winning publicly, leading them into the ensuing media storm. And so, we see the same story cropping up in the media – is it wise for winners to come out publicly, or should they keep the

  • Midsized agencies – way to go!!

A couple of weeks ago London’s Evening Standard ran an article  saying that tougher times were ahead for PR firms ‘stuck in the middle’. In essence, the newspaper was saying that the only way ahead for PR consultancies was either to be a global conglomerate or a niche player – scale versus supposed agility, and

  • Is the media simply collecting tokens?

Recently a former Radio 4 controller called for more ethnic minority representation on flagship programmes ‘Today’ and ‘The Archers’ which came weeks after the decision by Neighbours to move its first Asian family into Ramsay Street. This should be applauded as a proactive step to increase visibility of minority ethnic groups within the media, so
