Serco

Flagship Consulting worked with Serco before and after the launch of the innovative Barclays Cycle Hire scheme. It ran media training sessions with the key spokespeople and also worked with the Marketing & Communications team to prepare the crisis communications materials: manual, factsheets, Q&As, holding statements and scenario planning.

Flagship ran a half-day training session with the crisis communications team (which included representatives from Serco and Flagship) to test them in a simulated crisis and identify any potential flaws in its communications processes.

Flagship continues to work with Serco to monitor and evaluate coverage and social media mentions of the scheme, and to give support and advice as appropriate.

Manjeet Turner, Head of Marketing and Communications, says: “The crisis management preparation and training we have done with Flagship has been enormously useful. They understand our business and the logistics of this operation, and have become a part of the communications team. The work they have done and the training they have provided has laid the foundations for our crisis preparedness.”

Likes don’t save lives. At least, that’s the message emanating loud and clear from Unicef’s latest online campaign, which castigates the ‘slacktivists’ who aren’t as generous with their money as they are with clicking the ‘Like’ button on Facebook pages.  The campaign even includes a rather moving video featuring a ten year-old orphan who directly
