QVC

A client for the last 16 years, we manage the corporate reputation in the UK for QVC, one of the world’s leading multi-media retailers.

Having launched as a TV channel that many UK media said would never work, QVC is now in the forefront of broadcast and online technological innovation, a leader in its field in customer service initiatives and has a vast product range, with more than 15,000 products in stock at any one time.

Our work covers a broad range of corporate PR, trade PR, CSR, HR PR, crisis management and financial communications, from management profiles through to QVC’s charity initiatives, of which there are many.

Major projects have included PR for the opening of the High-Bay Warehouse (37 metres high and holding 30,000 pallets) through to promoting QVC’s ‘Sport in the Park’ event for disadvantaged young people in Battersea, London. Recently, we have worked on the launch of QVC Beauty, a standalone channel offering round-the-clock programming.

Our media coverage has spanned the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, Liverpool Daily Echo, Retail Week, Professional Jeweller, Marketing Week, Human Resources and Radio 4’s ‘You and Yours’. Writing award entries have led to QVC being a finalist in the National Business Regional Awards, Retail Week Technology Awards and Retail Bulletin People in Retail Awards

Pressure Chamber

  • Blame storming- is it getting worse?

This morning, as my Twitter, Facebook and news feeds sprang onto my screens, it was clear that Tesco was in the middle of a media storm. Its advertisement for ‘unpaid’ nightshift workers had seemingly provoked fury and outrage resulting in the social networks working themselves into a frenzy of hostility. What was interesting was that

The starting point for most businesses embarking on an SEO campaign is (obviously) the desire to drive more visitors. • What to do if you hit the Jackpot

In recent weeks there have been two substantial EuroMillions wins in the UK.  Interestingly, both decided to announce their winning publicly, leading them into the ensuing media storm. And so, we see the same story cropping up in the media – is it wise for winners to come out publicly, or should they keep the

  • Midsized agencies – way to go!!

A couple of weeks ago London’s Evening Standard ran an article  saying that tougher times were ahead for PR firms ‘stuck in the middle’. In essence, the newspaper was saying that the only way ahead for PR consultancies was either to be a global conglomerate or a niche player – scale versus supposed agility, and

  • Is the media simply collecting tokens?

Recently a former Radio 4 controller called for more ethnic minority representation on flagship programmes ‘Today’ and ‘The Archers’ which came weeks after the decision by Neighbours to move its first Asian family into Ramsay Street. This should be applauded as a proactive step to increase visibility of minority ethnic groups within the media, so
