Norwegian Cruise Line

Flagship Consulting has worked with Norwegian Cruise Line since 2003. During that time, NCL’s fleet has grown to 11 ships, including its largest ship, Norwegian Epic.

Flagship’s brief was to showcase Norwegian Epic and its unique facilities, and to demonstrate NCL’s commitment to, and partnership with, the travel trade. In a year where several high profile ship launches were taking place, it was essential to set Epic apart and create a PR event which caused a real buzz around the launch.

Flagship’s travel PR team secured attendance from more than 80 consumer and trade media, resulting in coverage across print, radio, social media and TV. Coverage highlights included features in seven national newspapers, with video content at Times Online and Telegraph TV and strong coverage in trade media. Television features appeared on Reuters and BBC Fast Track, and there was a full week’s worth of coverage on Nickelodeon, which used Epic as the host ship for its flagship presenter’s imaginary summer holiday. Print coverage alone has reached an audience of more than 21 million.

The Epic launch was billed as ‘the most anticipated ship launch of the year’.

At our company ‘away’ afternoon a couple of weeks ago, our CEO Diana likened us to the different ammunition that form an army, a platoon, or a brigade, if you will. Everyone has the same career type, but we’re not all cut from the same cloth and it is these differences that make a winning team.
