Family Holiday Association

The Family Holiday Association – Flagship’s favoured charity – has been working for more than 30 years to provide short breaks for the neediest families in our community. In March, we helped organise the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz to raise funds for, and awareness of, the FHA.

More than 400 FHA-registered quizzes were arranged, including the world’s highest quiz (on a Thomson Airways flight), the world’s deepest quiz (in the Red Sea), and a quiz on a Royal Navy frigate on patrol off the coast of Somalia. These events, together with pub quizzes all over the UK, raised £25,000 for FHA to help severely disadvantaged families to get a break away from home.

Flagship’s consumer and third sector PR teams worked on the communications plan and handled the PR for the quiz, including social media. The event had a significant online presence, with a dedicated Facebook page, Facebook application and Twitter feed. High profile coverage appeared in The Mail on Sunday, The Sun, The Mail, and in entertainment and travel media.
